NAB’s monthly survey of Australian businesses showed conditions worsened in October, while business confidence fell to a 2018 low. The biggest fall was seen in the sub-index for employment The National Australia Bank (NAB) Business Confidence Index is calculated based on a business survey of Australian companies conducted by NAB. It reflects the expectations of businesses regarding business conditions for the next 3 months. Business Confidence in New Zealand remained unchanged at -19.40 percent in February from -19.40 percent in January of 2020. Business Confidence in New Zealand averaged 3.88 percent from 1970 until 2020, reaching an all time high of 80.90 percent in February of 1994 and a record low of -76.40 percent in December of 1974.

National Australia Bank Limited (ASX: NAB) has released its Monthly Business Survey for January 2020, painting a picture broadly similar to that at the end of 2019.In overall terms, the survey indicates that there was no noticeable deterioration despite some state and industry evidence of a bushfire impact. A recently released NAB Monthly Business Survey indicated a slight improvement in conditions by 2 points and confidence by 1 point in October 2019. The survey also demonstrated that: Business conditions increased to +3 but remained below long-run average of +6. Business confidence rose to 2 points against zero in September. NAB’s monthly business survey for October showed business confidence rose to two index points from zero in September, while business conditions rose to three points from two in September.
